Diana Cotreras was born in Chiclayo, Peru in 1981. At the age of 5 she moved with her family to the United States, and there, has established herself as an influential Miami artist. Her passion for art began as a child and has continued throughout the years.
Artists such as Frida Kahlo, Gustav Klimt, and Salvador Dali have inspired my artwork. I enjoy working in various mediums such as charcoal, pastel, and paint. I want my work to inspire, encourage, and uplift others.
Using paints, brushes and spray paints, she vividly captures the beauty and sensuality of the feminine soul in timeless expressions. Varying from walls to canvas paintings, from stickers to shoes, her work has been seen all over the world in exhibitions and private collections.
Contreras received her B.S. in Art Education and a Post-Graduate of Art in Education from Florida International University. She also studied abroad in Florence, Italy where she focused on Art History. Additionally, Contreras was enrolled at the Art Students League of New York in New York City.
